IN-CENTER HEMODIALYSIS

We offer In-center hemodialysis for renal patients who prefer to have their treatments at a dialysis center. Our dialysis center has 6 Fresenius dialysis machines, supported by our state of the art water purification system. Pick up and drop off of patients is an additional service we offer for all in-center hemodialysis patients. Call us now for more information!

We understand that it may be more convenient for some patients to use their sleep time as their hemodialysis treatment time. With this in mind, Sharson Health is happy to offer nocturnal dialysis at our Tobago clinic. What is Chronic Kidney Disease?

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a condition characterized by a gradual loss of kidney function over time, making it harder for the kidneys to filter waste and excess fluids from the blood. Interestingly, CKD affects more than 10% of the global population and can often go unnoticed until it reaches an advanced stage.

Key risk factors include diabetes, high blood pressure, and a family history of kidney disease. Early detection and management are crucial to slowing its progression.

What are some of the signs and symptoms of Chronic Kidney Disease?

Here are some common indicators of CKD:

Fatigue and Weakness

A reduced ability to filter waste can lead to a buildup of toxins in the blood, causing tiredness and lack of energy.

Swelling (Edema)

Swelling in the legs, ankles, feet, or hands due to fluid retention, as the kidneys fail to remove excess fluid efficiently.

Changes in Urination

This can include increased or decreased frequency of urination, dark-colored urine, blood in the urine, or foamy urine due to protein leakage.

Shortness of Breath

Fluid buildup in the lungs or anemia caused by reduced production of red blood cells can lead to breathlessness.
